The United Nations General Assembly Third Committee (UNGA3), also referred to as the Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) is one of the six committees in the core of the United Nations, the General Assembly. This committee has a focus on humanitarian issues and elevating the living standards of people on social, humanitarian and cultural dimensions by implementing and supporting related initiatives. Thus, the main goal of this committee is to foster social development among all communities, and to protect marginalized communities whose identity, culture and social status may be threatened.
